We’ve been selling a four step
under-deck ladder for years. In recent
years customers have informed us that on
newer boats with larger pontoons and
higher riser brackets, the old four step
under-deck ladder didn’t go deep enough
into the water.
Ladder is self supporting. Does not need
to rest against the lake bottom. |
Installing a 5 Step Under-Deck Pontoon
Ladder |
|
To mount you’ll need a 5/16”
drill. There are flanges on the
front of the pontoon ladder that
mount on the front cross member
of the pontoon. Then depending
on the spacing of the cross
members, some are 18” others are
24”, attach the back of the
under-deck pontoon ladder to the
second or third cross member.
Drill the holes and use the
stainless steel 5/16” bolts with
lock nuts (included) to attach
the ladder to the cross member.
Try and line up the pontoon
ladder so that it is exactly in
the center of the pontoon tubes.
The ladder is 16” wide by 60”
long and will not interfere with
many models of center lift
pontoon trailers. But, if a boat
dealer stores your pontoon boat
using a center lift style
trailer, you may want to make
sure his trailer will fit before
purchasing the under-deck
pontoon ladder. |

Our 5 step
under-deck pontoon ladder is
heavy duty, rated to #300. It
pulls out from storage beneath
the pontoon deck at an angle.
It’s easy to board and stores
completely out of the way.
Because it pulls out on an angle
it’s easy to climb aboard, but
individuals with balance issues
might find it a problem because
there are no hand rails. Because
it pulls out at an angle the
under-deck pontoon ladder is
great at sandbars. The bottom
will “dig into” the sand and
this makes the under-deck
pontoon ladder especially
stable. Some customers have told
us that because the under-deck
pontoon ladder
is so convenient, even their
dogs can use it. |
